New Deck Addition + Outdoor Seating Styling

Finally we have a deck!! After a years wait because of lumber shortages, we were finally able to secure the materials for my brother in laws construction company to build our deck!

Since our home was one story in the front but technically two stories in the back, we opted for a higher deck that led off of our kitchen to allow for seating underneath as well.

I did a lot of research on which products would be best to use underneath the deck and decided crushed gravel would be the most cost effective and a plus for rain water drainage since our yard was so sloped.

I couldn’t wait to assemble and set out our new dining and conversation sets to enjoy for the season! Being in a tiered street neighborhood gave us the best sunsets. It’s no coincidence , that is the name of our street!

The finishing touches that really brought this space together were the insect repellent mesh “curtains” that we could close when sitting underneath and my favorite solar patio string lights.

We are so happy to finally have an additional 2 spaces to gather and enjoy in our backyard in addition to our new DIY gravel firepit area. It really changes the look and feel of the backyard and has become our own little oasis!
